self-compassion

How you offer kindness, and understanding to yourself is a big deal. With self-compassion, what we give to ourselves is not much different from what we’d provide to a good friend or a family member.

For lots of us, we learn from a very young age to be kind, and empathize with others. When our good friends drop the ball, we are likely to cheer them up rather crashing them on the ground, aren't we?

When it comes to ourselves? This could be a whole different story...

On some days, we might have moments when we feel self-critical, unkind, untruthful to ourselves when we lose, fail, or make mistakes. When that happens, not only our feelings are negative developed but also our body reacts in ways that might not be the most beneficial to our health. The more we resist and beat ourselves up, the more things can go down the rabbit whole.

How we deal with those moments and experiences makes a big impact to our own selves both physically and mentally and there are ways that we can approach them with more kindness, awareness, niceness and even love.

Failures, mistakes, losses and imperfections are part of the human experience that we all can have. They make our stories unique, ours and human.

The more we feel more compassionate towards ourselves, the happier we feel slash the healthier we can become.

Plant the seeds of self-compassion today and see them grow.

You are indeed your own best friend.
